The aim of the Diocesi di Concordia in Pordenone is to provide drinking water to the Missione of Sirima and neighbouring communities, where it has been active since the 1970s, by improving public health and supporting education.

What the project involves

The construction of a well will provide drinking water for more than 3,000 people living between Sirima, Mutaro, and Lamutia in Laikipia County, significantly improving the quality of life and sanitation of the community. School students will benefit from continuous access to water, promoting school attendance and performance.

Drinking water will also contribute to food security and local economic growth by reducing dependence on external sources and water supply times.

Expected Outcomes

  • Autonomy of beneficiaries in well management
  • Responsible use of water resources
  • Improved access to education
  • Improved community sanitation

The beneficiaries

The project will directly benefit 1,200 students from St. Teresa Sydney-Geneva and St. Augustine schools, as well as student dormitories and the local hospital. Indirect beneficiaries include the students' families and the entire community, who will see improved living conditions, health, and access to education. In total, the project will benefit 3,000 people.
