La Rotonda APS operates in Baranzate, the poorest municipality in the Province of Milan with an average per capita income of € 18,000. Baranzate experiences great fragility: residents’ difficulty in paying rent and bills, a lack of stable jobs, a lack of health and social services that especially burden young people with an immigrant background.
What the project involves
The project aims to foster employability and labour integration by involving NEETs and young people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities in training that enhances their professional skills. They will also be guided in entering the employment world by setting up internships and professional opportunities.
La Rotonda aims to create an ethical system that sees young NEETs not only as beneficiaries, but as agents of long-term change.
Expected Outcomes
- Inclusion through individualised and customised needs-based care services
- Collaboration with local authorities and actors to create employment and training opportunities
- Development of resources, skills, and opportunities for young NEETs with physical and/or mental vulnerabilities
The beneficiaries
The direct beneficiaries will be 60 young people in the 16-29-year age group with physical and/or mental disabilities and who present forms of mental and psychological distress that make them temporarily or permanently unable to work.
Indirect beneficiaries will be the families of the children involved.
