Altravoce ETS Non-Profit in Val Camonica offers music training for young people with mental disabilities who are excluded from advanced training courses, bridging the lack of services and aiming for financial compensation that enhances their commitment.
What the project involves
The general objective of the project is to support social and employment inclusion in the province of Brescia, promoting the involvement of people with mental disabilities within the Altravoce Symphony Orchestra and combating the stigmas associated with these types of disabilities.
The musicians will receive compensation for their performances and will be able to access two-year specialisation courses to complete their training. In addition, meetings with Altravoce will give them the opportunity to socialise with colleagues and educators, expanding their social network and working on self-esteem and self-awareness.
Expected Outcomes
- Demonstrating that people with disabilities can perform in symphonic settings
- Promoting the social and economic inclusion of musicians with disabilities
- Guaranteeing compensation for their performance
- Changing the perception of disability with events
- Right to training
The beneficiaries
The project will involve 13 mentally and severely disabled musicians between 17 and 58 years of age from all over Val Camonica, with benefits for their families and local residents who will be able to attend the concerts.
